How much was traded during that time. A clue for telling whether a price move is "real."
If volume rises as price breaks a horizontal line, the move is more likely to be real
Where participants jumped in on big news or data
There's no central exchange, so the number of price updates (tick count) is used instead
Technical indicators are calculated from past price moves, so they react a little late and can be wrong (false signals). The basic rule is not to decide from just one.
In low-volume hours (like early morning Japan time (JST)), a few orders can make price jump, and your stop loss may fill at a worse price. At a prop firm, go easy on trading during thin hours. The hours around the daily reset (7 a.m. in winter) also tend to be thin.
